Winter Nights CD

Guitarist Al Di Meola expands the idea of world music by collaborating with Ukrainian bandura player Roman Hrynkiv. In this project, he presents a distinctive selection of instrumental seasonal pieces enhanced by layered percussion. The album features a mix of compelling original compositions and carefully arranged classics such as “Carol of the Bells,” “Ave Maria,” and “The First Noel.” The title Winter Nights is fitting, as the music evokes both the crisp stillness and quiet beauty of a star-filled winter evening.

With this release, Di Meola brings a festive touch through interpretations of well-known holiday songs like “The First Noël,” “What Child Is This?” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” while also introducing his own compositions, including “First Snow Lullaby” and “Zima.” On the album, he performs on acoustic guitar, harp, keyboards, and percussion, accompanied by Roman Hrynkiv on bandura and Hernan Romero on acoustic guitar and percussion.
